Best of Boutique Winners Announced: Hospitality Design magazine is pleased to announce this year's Best of Boutique (BOB) Winners. Over 50 entries were received in categories ranging from lighting to outdoor furniture to flooring. This year's BOB judges were: Orit Kaufman, principal, NEMAWORKSHOP; Ray Chuang, designer, Rockwell Group; and Rafael Alvarez, principal, Alvarez-Brock Design. Each winner will be honored with an award to display at their booth at HD Boutique. All of the winning products will be showcased in the November issue of HD, as well as on hdmag.com. Radical Innovation in Hospitality: The Radical Innovation in Hospitality Award competition offers conference-goers the chance to select real-time the winner of this renowned global contest. The challenge is clear: designers worldwide create their vision of the future of hospitality design. The top two design teams (as selected by an independent jury) present their innovative projects at a special conference session at HD Boutique. The annual competition, sponsored by and founded by John Hardy, president and CEO, The John Hardy Group, and Michelle Finn, vice president, Hospitality Design Group, is open to hospitality brands, design and consulting professionals, and students. Hospitality experiences and/or projects built or un-built are eligible for entry.

Catch this global phenom with a provocative edge. If you are not acquainted with Pecha Kucha, now’s the time. Pecha Kucha, loosely translated, is Japanese for chit-chat. It's the anti-Twitter. It's a trademarked, live visual and verbal presentation style (www.pecha-kucha.org) in 190 cities globally to showcase innovative ideas from all realms.
So here we go with Design Authenticity, a customized program featuring genuine experiences, products, projects, ideas, and expressions. Presenters are allowed 20 slides (PowerPoint format), each shown for 20 seconds, providing 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter.
